Northern Kentucky’s Ninth Annual Traumatic Brain Injury Conference

Northern Kentucky’s brain injury support group, BRIDGES, wrapped up brain injury awareness month on Friday, March 27th with its ninth annual conference. At this conference, national, regional, and local experts provided education, advocacy and networking opportunities to brain injured survivors, families, caregivers, attorneys, students, educators, and healthcare professionals.

The theme for this year’s conference was, “TBI and Sports: Keeping Our Heads in the Game.” The presentations consisted of in-depth educational sessions, covering topics such as, promotion of recovery following concussion, neuroimaging, implications of concussion on vision, and how to spot and treat concussion. Every brain injury is different, so attending such conferences enhances the MRJ Brain Injury Team’s understanding of neuroscience and furthers our mission to understand each client’s needs on an individual basis.
