MRJ Attorneys Publish Truck EDR Evidence Primer

Brain Injury Team attorney Elaine Stoll and Brian Pokrywka, whose practice is focused on defending commercial vehicle transportation claims,  recently co-authored an article entitled "Truck EDR Data—Strategies to Limit Plaintiffs’ Event-Counter Evidence" for DRI's For The Defense magazine. The article, which appears in the magazine's December 2016 issue, provides practical and legal strategies for countering misrepresentation and misinterpretation of the information collected and stored by the electronic systems in a heavy truck with event data recorder (EDR) functionality.

EDR data aids in understanding how a vehicle accident occurred and the physics and biomechanics of an accident. By providing information about the forces involved, EDR data can be useful along with other evidence in determining whether a TBI was possible in an accident. Attorneys in the Montgomery, Rennie & Jonson brain injury, commercial transportation, and product liability practices stay up-to-date on EDR data and the evolving vehicle technologies that report such data.
